A new Fox comedy set in Colonial Massachusetts has a very promising first trailer
The British are coming... again!
A historical time-traveling comedy that takes place in both present-day and Colonial-era Massachusetts is coming to Fox in 2017.
Making History stars Adam Pally (The Mindy Project, Key and Peele) as Dan Chambers, a computer science professor at a small Massachusetts college who has discovered a way to travel back in time, according to the show’s website. A “colossal screw-up” in the present day, Dan is able to use 200-plus years of song lyrics, movie lines, and stand-up jokes to get himself a colonial-era girlfriend named Deborah, played by Leighton Meester (Gossip Girl).

Unfortunately, Dan’s meddling has changed history, partly because Deborah is the daughter of Paul Revere. To help set things right, Dan enlists the help of a colleague, history professor Chris Parish, played by Yassir Lester (Girls, Key and Peele).
The trailer has plenty of local references, with the trailer’s pivotal scene playing out at the historic Revolutionary War-era watering hole Buckman Tavern in Lexington, and the characters trading jokes and Jerry Maguire quotes with a fictionalized version of John Hancock.

Making History will air on Sundays in 2017 at 8:30 p.m., following The Simpsons and preceding Family Guy in Fox’s Sunday night comedy block.
