On Thursday morning, severe delays plagued the Red Line. You know, the same line that caused hour-long delays for countless commuters at the end of January. This understandably frustrated throngs of Bostonians who had to deal with packed cars and trains that moved at a glacial pace.

The bad news: MBTA failures are so frequent, they have practically become expected. The good news: The more the T fails, the funnier people’s reactions become.

Apparently, the service-clogging issue was related to a switch problem at Alewife Station. The MBTA accommodated riders who elected to use the Commuter Rail in lieu of the Red Line, and according to tweets from the MBTA, said riders were not asked to pay the Zone 1 fare because of the delays.
