One of Boston rock’s greatest annual traditions has revealed its lineup

The 2016 Rock & Roll Rumble is coming.

The Rock & Roll Rumble has been a Boston music institution since 1979, highlighting local bands like The Sheila Divine, Dresden Dolls, Piebald throughout the years.

On Sunday night, WZLX’s Anngelle Wood, host of local music show Boston Emissions, revealed the 24 bands playing this year’s Rock & Roll Rumble– a battle-of-the-bands style music festival that takes place over three weeks in April. This year’s Rumble has a new home, moving on from the recently closed TT the Bear’s Place to ONCE Ballroom and Lounge in Somerville. In addition to the lineup below, the Rumble will also feature a performance from special guest band Scissorfight at the final round on April 22.

This year’s Rock & Roll Rumble takes place from April 3-22. Individual night lineups will be revealed next Sunday night on Boston Emissions, and “Six-Pack’’ full-Rumble passes are currently on sale on WZLX’s website.
