Earth, Wind, and Fire, Jackson Browne, and more added to Tanglewood lineup
Is it summer yet?
A Tanglewood 2016 lineup that already features the likes of James Taylor, Seth MacFarlane, and a Jerry Garcia tribute is getting even more star-packed. Today, the Boston Symphony Orchestra’s summer music residency added several more big names to its bill.
Earth, Wind, and Fire will return to help the Pops kick off its season at Tanglewood on June 18 as part of the band’s first tour since the recent passing of founding member Maurice White.
Singer-songwriter Jackson Browne, a Tanglewood favorite, will play the festival on Tuesday, June 21.
Multi-Grammy Award-winning pop rock band Train will play on August 23, along with “Honey, I’m Good’’ singer Andy Grammer.
And colorful post-punk band The B-52s will play its first-ever Tanglewood show on September 2, combining its signature party rock with the festival’s orchestra.
Tickets for these performances go on sale Monday, March 14, at 10 a.m. via Tanglewood’s website.
