Dave Matthews Band is going on a 2017 hiatus, but first they’re coming to Massachusetts
Their Mansfield show will be one of 46 scheduled ones this summer.
For the Dave Matthews Band’s 25th anniversary, the group will hit the road this summer, stopping in Massachusetts on June 10 at the Xfinity Center in Mansfield. While this summer trek is tradition for the Virginia jam-pop band, it might also be the group’s last for some time, as they have also announced a touring hiatus starting in September.
“We will take a break from touring in 2017,’’ the band wrote on its website. “We are so appreciative of our amazing fans and want to thank you all for your continued support.’’
The band hasn’t given specific reason for the planned break, but it’s well deserved following a tour that will include 46 shows over the course of four months. In addition to Mansfield, Dave Matthews Band will also play shows in Maine, Connecticut, and New Hampshire. Tickets for the tour go on sale Friday, February 19 at 10 a.m. via Ticketmaster.
