Speedy Ortiz sweeps up at 2015 Boston Music Awards

The 29th annual Boston Music Awards kicked off Wednesday night, with the announcement of this year’s winners and performances from 14 local artists. The awards were hosted at a new venue, The Sinclair in Cambridge, and featured a new format that will extend the event to two nights.

Big winners this year included Western Massachusetts rockers Speedy Ortiz, who took home “Artist of the Year,’’ “Album/EP of the Year’’ for their latest Foil Deer, “Song of the Year’’ for “Raising the Skate,’’ and “Best Charitable Effort’’ for their partnership with Girls Rock Camp Foundation.
