Foo Fighters made a mid-tour stop in Boston this weekend, playing two straight nights to close out a week of music at Fenway. Still recovering from a broken leg, Foo frontman Dave Grohl has been playing from a throne for most of the tour and checking in with doctors throughout.
On Sunday night, he let Dr. Lew Schon take the spotlight, joining the band on vocals for a rendition of the White Stripes classic “Seven Nation Army.’’
Schon may not have the rock ‘n’ roll growl of his top patient, but he really makes the cover his own, adding hype-man dance moves and encouraging audience participation. It was a goofy but fun way to cap off a momentous two-night run from one of today’s most popular touring bands.
