A Malden native is currently kicking butt on Jeopardy

Brennan Bushee is heading for a six-game winning streak.

Malden’s own Brennan Bushee is on a Jeopardy! tear right now, and won his fifth straight show on Friday night, the ninth contestant this season to accomplish such a feat.

Here’s what we know about Bushee, thanks mostly to those ever-awkward mid-show contestant interviews:

– Bushee is a 2011 graduate of Mystic Valley Regional Charter School. He played hockey and in one particular game, he lost his pants after his belt came loose.

– He “got his game show start a few years ago appearing on High School Quiz Show with Billy Costa as a member of the Mystic Valley team,’’ according to the Mystic Valley Regional Charter School’s site.

– He’s an operations analyst. He was inspired by a robotics course he took in college.

– Canada is the only foreign country he has ever travelled to.

– He owns a baseball signed by the 1967 Red Sox. His favorite player from that team is Carl Yastrzemski.

– He is a 2015 graduate of Skidmore College, receiving degrees in mathematics and computer science.

– The mayor of Malden is a fan:

Bushee has won more than $128,000 so far, and will go for his sixth straight victory tonight at 7:30 p.m. on CBS. We wish Bushee all the best, and hope that at the very least, his stories won’t be as bad as the one that fellow local Dan Tran told.
