When the sun is blazing and the summer gets hot, people in Boston are accustomed to heading to Water Country to have some fun. This summer though, we may not have to travel so far. Slide the City, a 1,000-foot water slide, could be making a stop in a to-be-determined section of the city.

The Herald reports that the Springbox Group, which produces Slide the City and other events around the country, is currently seeking locations for the slide and will be applying for a city permit. No specific date has been announced yet. Slide the City did not respond to multiple requests for comment.

“You can imagine it’s hard to find a hill that’s at least 1,000 feet long with the appropriate slope that the city would let us shut down,’’ Emerson Hamilton, Springbox Group CEO, told the Herald.

Slide the City is the latest in a trend of traveling outdoor events that have made their way to the area, including Tough Mudder, Spartan Race, and the Color Me Rad run, which is also produced by Springbox.

Tickets for Slide the City will cost $15 to $60. For those who cannot wait to buy tickets, other dates have already been announced in New England, including Holyoke on Aug. 22, Stamford, Connecticut, on July 26, and Portland, Maine, on Aug. 1. While Boston still awaits a date or location, sign ups have already begun.According to the Herald, Boston hasn’t yet received Springbox’s application for an event permit.
