Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, better known as “The Weeknd,” brought his “After Hours Til Dawn” tour to town Tuesday for the first of a two-night stand at Gillette Stadium.
These performances will represent the second and third times that The Weeknd has played in Massachusetts, the first being a previous Gillette Stadium stop in 2022.
On Tuesday, the artist was accompanied by producer and sound engineer Mike Dean and rapper Playboi Carti, who joined the “Starboy” singer for a couple of songs.
The Canadian singer has accumulated 176 awards, including four Grammy wins, for his music, which ranges from house music to pop.
Despite the rainy weather, The Weeknd put on a fiery show (literally) in his now-signature mask, something that many audience members speculated about during the mask’s debut during the Super Bowl halftime performance in 2021.
The Weeknd returns to Gillette for a second show Wednesday night at 7 p.m. For a glimpse of the concert, check out the photos and full setlist below.
