No more summertime sadness in Boston. Lana Del Rey is kicking off her first ever U.S. stadium tour with a one-night performance at Fenway Park on June 20.
The singer promised a “very special” opening night in New England before continuing the rest of her international shows across Europe. Del Rey’s tour comes just after her ninth studio album, “Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd.”
Her tenth studio album, “Lasso,” which is touted to feature a heavy country music influence, is set to be released in September. Del Rey flashed her western sound at Stagecoach Festival last weekend, making two unannounced appearances and crashing Paul Cauthen’s set.
Del Rey’s Stagecoach performance was just one of a handful of large-scale shows over the past year. Before drawing massive crowds at Coachella earlier in April, the Manhattan-born singer crushed two sold-out amphitheater shows last summer at Mexico City’s Foro Sol, performing for over 65,000 fans each night.
Tickets for Del Rey’s Fenway show will go live beginning with an artist presale this Wednesday, May 8, at 10 a.m. General ticket sales open on Friday, May 10, at 10 a.m at livenation.com.
