Post Malone changed his tune — quite literally — at his Fenway Park show on Wednesday night.
Malone, known for his rap music, broke into the music scene with his rap song “White Iverson” nearly a decade ago.
But on Wednesday night, Malone embraced a completely different sound.
The rapper-turned-country star performed songs from his newly released country album “F-1 Trillion” to a crowd of fans in cowboy boots and other country garb.
“Last night’s performance proved his place in the genre,” wrote the Boston Globe, “even if he’s more of his ‘own thing’ than a figurehead for any one musical style.”
Malone was not the only performer to take the stage at the legendary ballpark, where he closed out the summer concert season — he also dueted with special guests ERNEST on “Devil I’ve Been” and HARDY for “Hide My Gun.”
Malone ended the night singing “Sunflower” to the popping of fireworks heard throughout the neighboring area.
