You can’t always get what you want — especially if you were trying to snag tickets to The Rolling Stones’ 2024 Hackney Diamonds Tour that hit Gillette Stadium on Thursday night.
If you were lucky enough to see a shockingly-spry 80-year-old Mick Jagger strut about the stage for 19 songs, well, we envy you. The music icon was joined by Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood for the 100th show in Gillette Stadium history.
It was a full-circle moment for the group, who first played the first-ever concert at Foxborough on Sept. 5, 2002.
Despite a broken-down MBTA commuter rail that threatened to derail the plans of eager fans, the show went off without a hitch. Now, it’s time to peel back the curtain on The Stones’ night at Gillette, which celebrated the release of their first new music since 2005. “If Thursday’s show was the last that Boston sees these ancients play, they went out rocking,” read the Boston Globe‘s review.
