Jennifer Coolidge will impart her wisdom on Emerson College graduates at the school’s 2025 commencement ceremony this spring.

The Norwell native and Emerson alum, best known for her roles in “The White Lotus,” “Legally Blonde,” “American Pie,” and a number of Christopher Guest mockumentaries, will also be given an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters by the college.

For those of you not among the approximately 1,000 students (or friends and family) attending the commencement ceremony on May 11 at Agganis Arena, Coolidge’s speech can be viewed via livestream on Emerson’s website.

Coolidge, who graduated from Emerson in 1985, has pitched in for the school’s commencement before, albeit virtually.

In 2020, Coolidge was one of several alumni (including Bill Burr and Henry Winkler) who recorded a stirring video speech for students graduating amidst the pandemic.

“Life is a storm, my young graduates,” Coolidge said, in remarks inspired by a passage from “The Count of Monte Cristo.” “You will bask in the sunlight in one moment, and be shattered on the rocks in the next. What defines you is what you do when that storm comes. You must look into that storm’s eye and shout, as you did in Rome, ‘Do your worst, as I will do mine!’ Then the fates will know you as we know you, as Emerson Class of 2020!”
