Reese Witherspoon was back in “Legally Blonde” mode during a visit to Harvard last week.

According to People, Kate Maistrenko, a member of the Ukrainian Olympic rowing team, ran into Witherspoon at the Harvard Business School on Wednesday ahead of Maistrenko competing in the Head of the Charles.

“We talked for, like, 10 minutes. It was really, really nice conversation,” Maistrenko, told People of her encounter with the “super friendly” actress. “She wished me all the best with my rowing.”

In 2001’s “Legally Blonde,” Witherspoon played Elle Woods, a sorority queen who follows her high school boyfriend to Harvard Law School, winning over skeptical classmates and eventually becoming a successful lawyer.

The film spawned the 2003 sequel “Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde,” a 2009 direct-to-video sequel, and an award-winning 2007 musical.

A “Legally Blonde 3” has been in development for several years now, with Mindy Kaling co-writing a script with Dan Goor (“Brooklyn Nine-Nine”) set to star Witherspoon as a middle-aged Woods.

“I can’t wait to see what people will think of the way we wrote Elle Woods,” Kaling said in a 2021 interview. “We wrote Elle Woods at 40, so how Elle is at 40 versus how she was at 21 has been really fun to imagine.”

Though there have been no substantial updates on the progress of “Legally Blonde 3” recently, Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine production company is currently working on a “Legally Blonde” spinoff series at Amazon MGM Studios, according to Deadline.
