Almost 50 days since last making a joint public appearance, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez were seen together again amid a maelstrom of reports and rumors of marital strife.
Affleck and Lopez, who rekindled their relationship in 2021 and married in 2022, were photographed together twice over the past few days. On May 16, Ben and J.Lo — arriving separately — watched Affleck’s child, Fin, perform in a school play. The next day, Affleck was photographed solo sans wedding band.
Affleck’s ring was back on his hand Sunday when he and Lopez (also wearing her wedding ring) attended a movie event at Aero Theatre in Santa Monica, Calif., before heading to an event at social club Soho House.
Concern over the stability of Affleck and Lopez’s relationship first surfaced when the Cambridge native didn’t join Lopez at the Met Gala, where the singer/actress was serving as co-chair of the annual fashion soirée.
A week later, TMZ obtained photos and videos over multiple days of Affleck seemingly living at a rental home in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles instead of the couple’s $60 million Beverly Hills mansion.
Sources told multiple outlets, including People, Entertainment Tonight, and Us Weekly, that the couple were living separately while Affleck was filming “The Accountant 2.”
Lopez was also photographed around the same time seemingly house-hunting in Los Angeles.
So what does it all mean?
Depending on which unnamed sources you believe (if any), Lopez and Affleck are either “headed for divorce” (InTouch Weekly), “are on two completely different pages,” (Us Weekly) or “taking a second to figure out what each of them is going through and wants” (Entertainment Tonight).
Representatives for Affleck and Lopez had not responded to requests for comment at the time of this article’s publication.
