Gisele Bündchen celebrates National Breastfeeding Awareness Month with Instagram post
"I feel blessed that I was able to nourish them in this way."
Supermodel Gisele Bündchen posted a photo to Instagram on Friday morning celebrating National Breastfeeding Awareness Month.
Bünchen wrote that one of her most special memories with her children is breastfeeding.
“That special look you get, that feeling of connection is unlike anything I have ever experienced,” she wrote.
She also included a celebration of all mothers, breastfeeding and otherwise, at the end of the post.
“Congratulations to all mamas out there for the effort that we put in, the ones who breastfeed, and those who could not and have had heartbreaking moments trying to. I celebrate all of you!” it read.

The post ended with the same message written in Portuguese.
World Breastfeeding Week, which is the first week of August, just finished, according to the World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action.
National Breastfeeding Month was created by the United States Breastfeeding Committee in 2011 “in furtherance of USBC’s role to advance breastfeeding on our Nation’s agenda through collaboration, leadership, and advocacy, so that all U.S. families will have the opportunity to breastfeed.”
