Joey McIntyre

came out to support National Grid workers affected by last month’s lockout — and he has the selfies to prove it.

Last week, the New Kids on the Block member tweeted that he would be at a rally in support of the 1,250 workers locked out of National Grid facilities after failed contract negotiations between unions and the gas company. The union employees have been left without paychecks and health insurance.

“I’m marching next Weds at 4 pm from #BostonCityHall to the State House with my brothers and sisters in #solidarity and #endthelockout of the #NationalGrid workers,’’ McIntyre tweeted July 13.

In the post, the singer offered to take “#selfiesforsolidarity’’ with other protesters — a promise he fulfilled by snapping a whole lot of photos during the march.

McIntyre retweeted quite a few of those selfies after the rally. And in one post, he continued to advocate for an end to the lockout: “Hardworking men and women who want to work have been stripped of their jobs and health care. #endthelockout — this is not a left or right issue, it’s a public issue of safety.’’
