John Cena and Nikki Bella are reportedly back together
The breakup didn't last long.
Well that was quick.
A little more than six weeks after ending their engagement, WWE superstar and West Newbury native John Cena and fellow pro wrestler Nikki Bella are reportedly back together.
Us Weekly and People both reported that Cena, 41 and Bella, 34, have rekindled their relationship after calling it quits in April.
“Nikki called off the wedding earlier this month so she could have more time to make a decision with what she wanted in life,” a source told Us Weekly. “Calling off the wedding was the right decision at the moment and their relationship only grew from it. It didn’t mean that any love was lost, or that they lost any feelings for one another, but they both have realized that they love each other and want to be with one another.”
A source told People that the reality TV stars’ decision to call off their wedding may ultimately end up being “the best thing that ever happened to their relationship.”
“The wedding they called off no longer felt like their wedding,” the source said. “It was a wedding for TV, a wedding for publicity, a wedding for the fans and for viewers almost.”
Shortly after their breakup, Cena very publicly professed his desire to get back together, appearing on “Today” and telling hosts Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford that he still loved Bella.
“I still love Nicole,” Cena said. “I still would love to marry Nicole. I still would love to have a family with Nicole.”
