Taylor Swift serves as bridesmaid at wedding on Vineyard
In a wine-colored dress, matching lipstick, and perfectly coiffed curls, pop superstar Taylor Swift celebrated on Martha’s Vineyard this weekend, serving as a bridesmaid in the wedding of one of her best friends, Abigail Anderson, according to the entertainment website TMZ.
“Swifties,’’ or die-hard fans of the 10-time Grammy Award winner, might recognize the name “Abigail’’ from Swift’s song “Fifteen’’ on her 2008 album, “Fearless.’’ In the song, Swift croons about how she met her best friend named Abigail. Photos of Swift holding the train of Anderson’s wedding dress Saturday afternoon were posted by TMZ.
According to People Magazine, Anderson wed photographer Matt Lucier at the Old Whaling Church in Edgartown. The magazine said a crowd gathered outside the church to catch a glimpse of Swift. Several entertainment websites reported that it was Swift’s first public appearance since the Aug. 24 release of her revenge-inspired single, “Look What You Made Me Do,’’ which broke four records in its first week, including most video views in its first 24 hours and most Spotify streams in its first day, according to E! News.
People said Swift celebrated the couple’s engagement over the July Fourth weekend in 2016. A photo on Anderson’s Instagram account shows Swift with Abigail and her fiance, with the caption: “When there’s literally so much love around your only option is to make a room for all of your love banners & sing love songs to each other. @taylorswift we LOVE you!’’

The Vineyard visit wasn’t all Swift did over the holiday weekend. She released a second track off her upcoming “Reputation’’ album. ‘‘. . . Ready for It?’’ came out Sunday after a portion of it premiered during the Alabama vs. Florida State college football game on ESPN Saturday night. ‘‘Reputation’’ will be released Nov. 10.
