Matt Damon says he’s ‘decidedly unromantic’
Matt Damon probably won’t be doing the flowers-and-chocolate thing for wife Luciana Barroso this Valentine’s Day, according to an interview he gave Good Morning Britain on Tuesday morning.
“I’m not as good at that stuff as I should be,” Damon said.
Damon was on the show to promote his new movie The Great Wall, which opens Friday.
“I’ll do romantic things, but not on a timetable,” Damon said. “I’m not good at hitting those, ‘Well, it’s Valentine’s Day and I really nailed it with the flowers and the chocolates.'”
The Cambridge native has been married to Barroso for 11 years and has three daughters and a stepdaughter.
“I kind of do things as they occur to me, which is decidedly unromantic,” Damon said.
He may not put much stock in Valentine’s Day, but Damon fans would argue he’s proven his romantic aptitude in other ways. Damon and Barroso renewed their wedding vows at a beautiful beach in Saint Lucia a few years back, surrounded by family and friends. It was a location the actor scouted out himself, according to E! News.
That sounds pretty romantic to us.
