After rescuing a runaway cow back in April, Jon Stewart returned over the weekend as an animal hero once again.

The Associated Press reports that the former Daily Show host and his wife adopted a 20-year-old abused horse named Lily, who was found in March at a sales stables in New Holland, Pennsylvania. The horse had been shot more than 100 times with paintballs and had lost an eye from injuries.

An East Providence, Rhode Island, man named Phillip Price was convicted Friday in Pennsylvania of animal cruelty. Price faces $3,056 in fines and $10,176 in medical costs for the horse, according to the New York Post.
