Tracy Morgan is coming to The Wilbur this weekend
The comedian will also stop by Foxwoods while on his “Picking up the Pieces’’ tour.
After a harrowing car accident that left him with a traumatic brain injury, former Saturday Night Live and 30 Rock cast member Tracy Morgan is back for his “Picking up the Pieces’’ tour. The comedian will hit The Wilbur stage for three shows this coming weekend and appear at Foxwoods on March 19.
The accident, which occurred in June of 2014, left Morgan in a coma for two weeks and killed his friend and fellow passenger, James McNair. Now, Morgan is channeling that experience into his material.
“Everyone knows I was hit by a [expletive] Wal-Mart truck,’’ Morgan said to a crowd in Indiana, according to the Chicago Tribune. “But when I was in that wheelchair, I still shopped at Wal-Mart. You still can’t beat their prices.’’
That performance marked the first show of his tour, which extends into May with stops all across the United States. He’ll appear at The Wilbur for two shows on Saturday, February 20 at 7 p.m. and 9:45 p.m., and a Sunday, February 21 show at 7 p.m.
“It’s just like falling off a bike and getting back on, that’s all: you don’t forget where the pedals are,’’ Morgan said in a statement to ET Online. “People can expect more of what I did before. It’s me: funny + truth = Tracy Morgan. I can’t wait to get back to ya’ll; city to city, state to state, watch me operate.’’
