Steven Tyler hijacks CNN storm broadcast, gives New Yorkers advice

A historic winter storm stranded people all along the East Coast with near-record snowfall this weekend — including Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler.

When the streets were closed to vehicles, Tyler and his daughter, Mia, were among those who dared to venture out in New York City on foot, and happened to wander past a CNN broadcast.

Tyler told CNN that they were stranded in New York after he came to appear on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and decided he was “going to hunker down.’’

“I’ve got a funny feeling the storm is going to keep us here a couple extra days,’’ he said.

Tyler also took the moment to dish out some advice for those weathering the storm, telling New Yorkers to do two things: “Stay home,’’ he said. “Two words: hot chocolate.’’
