This photo from Ghostbusters shows what ‘girl power’ looks like

The latest installation of social media from the Ghostbusters set is a case study in female greatness:

Melissa McCarthy stands in the front row with co-stars Kate McKinnon, Kristen Wiig, and Leslie Jones, clutching a banner that reads “Girl Power.’’ The actresses are flanked by dozens of women who are hard at work on the upcoming film, set to be released in July 2016.

Though the banner speaks for itself, McCarthy’s accompanying text indicates that it might be something more than a spontaneous photo-op. The pic is likely a show of solidarity with Ellen DeGeneres, who launched an initiative to promote girl’s self-confidence in the form of a children’s line from Gap Kids earlier this week.

Though the line doesn’t sell the beige Ghostbusters jumpsuits we’ve been seeing around Boston this summer, the sentiment behind the clothing line is clearly endorsed by the film. Ghostbusters has seen its share of detractors who are up-in-arms about the all-female leads, but from the photo, it’s clear that McCarthy and co. won’t be made to feel anything less than #unstoppable.
