Bill Burr says he misses Bruce Jenner on Conan
The Boston-bred comedian had a few things to say about Caitlyn Jenner on last night’s .
Bill Burr doesn’t want to offend anybody, but he misses Bruce Jenner.
The Canton-born comic told Conan O’Brien on Thursday that, back in the day, he was a big fan of the Olympic athlete, who recently came out as transgender and now goes by Caitlyn Jenner.
“I miss that guy, I miss him already,’’ Burr said. “He should’ve given us a chance to say goodbye. I watched him on the Olympics, I watched him on Chips, I watched him on that horrible show my wife watches where he just walks around in the background.’’
While Burr said he didn’t want to be a “jerk’’ about the situation, he still cracked a few jokes at Jenner’s expense and questioned why the news was dominated by talk of her transition.
“That was like a national news story on a ridiculous level,’’ Burr said. “It’s like baby seals washing up on the beach because there’s no fish left, and they’re talking to this lady like, ‘So Bruce, can your Olympic back handle a D-cup or are you going to go with something like a little more perky.’’
