Ben Affleck friends deny nanny affair, downplay Patriots rings
Ben Affleck’s friends told The New York Post he was not having an affair with ex-nanny Christine Ouzounian during his trip to Las Vegas with New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady. The sources downplayed the signifance of the photo of Ouzounian wearing Brady’s Super Bowl rings, saying Affleck was flying with other assistants and staff, who also tried on the rings.
The initial report from PageSix.com said that Affleck “hid’’ the nanny the entire trip. Affleck’s friend disputed that.
“She was not hiding,’’ the friend said. “After the tournament ended, Ben returned to the Bahamas, to the family. Christine went home to LA.’’
While the Ouzounian photo wasn’t the first misadventure of a Patriots championship ring, it caused a stir on the Internet Tuesday. According to the paper, Affleck and Jennifer Garner announced they were getting divorced three days after this picture was taken, and US Magazine reported July 29 the ex-nanny was at the center of that breakup. According to People, Affleck denied the affair.
Affleck’s camp pleaded ignorance to most other details about the situation, saying they weren’t sure which other staff members tried on the rings and they did not know whose jet the photo was taken on. They wouldn’t answer whether Brady’s wife Gisele was onboard. And they did not know who took the photo of Ouzounian published in The New York Post.

“Christine flew with Ben from the Bahamas to Vegas because she was helping him with his poker tournament for his charity [the Eastern Congo Initiative],’’ a friend told the Post. “[She] was flying back to LA anyway, so decided to take a ride on the plane and then just went to the tournament to help out as an extra hand.’’
Brady is looking exoneration too, as he heads to court Wednesday for his appeal of his four-game suspension for his role in the Deflategate scandal.
