Actor and Vineyard vacationer Bill Murray stopped by a Martha’s Vineyard Sharks game in Oak Bluffs over the weekend to provide some support as a longtime fan. Murray, one of the original Sharks owners when they were established in 2011 and now a minority owner, threw out the first pitch on Sunday night, a playoff game that would put the Sharks into the Futures Collegiate Baseball League championships.

“He was hilarious,’’ Sharks head coach Frank Leoni told Boston.com. “He stopped for everyone who asked to take a picture or an autograph. He’s awesome, a mild-mannered, soft-spoken guy who just delivers his one-liners.’’

The Sharks took home a win that evening, and advance to host the Pittsfield Suns on Tuesday.

Long live Bill Murray, lucky charm.
