New puppy owner Ben Affleck takes PR ploy from Tom Brady’s playbook
Puppies are great distractions from life crises.

Amid his very public separation from wife Jennifer Garner, Ben Affleck seems to be handling the divorce responsibily. His new $90,000 cool-dude sports car and recent large-and-in-charge lower-back tattoo are good indulges for his new life as a single lad. (Or just the things to provide enough of a distraction to suffocate his mid-life anguish? Prevail he will.)
So now that he’s alarmed just about everyone, Affleck is here to redeem himself by adopting a puppy. Us Weekly reports that he was spotted in Atlanta cradling a little golden retriever like an actual human child, reportedly on his way to present the fluffy pal to his actual human children.
Of course, the puppy is just a decoy, a publicity move we’ve seen executed by the one and only GOAT. Tom Brady bought a puppy named Scooby in the wake of Deflategate, probably to instill that he’s still great and wholesome in spite of your jokes about deflated balls.
After all, nothing says decent human being like accessorizing with a puppy.
