Crucial clarification alert.

Perennial king of stripping Channing Tatum is continuing the press tour for his latest movie Magic Mike XXL, landing interviews and discussing paramount topics like unapologetic nakedness and lap dancing. In one recent sit-down with Austrailian site Daily Life, the topic of feminism came up between conversation about grilling and choreography.

In a response to the reporter’s mention of feminist writer and Magic Mike fan Roxane Gay, Tatum said: “’Feminist is like a hard word for me to throw around. I would love to say that I’m a feminist, but I don’t study feminism, so I can’t just go, like, ‘Yes! I’m a feminist!’ But I’m very pro-feminism. I want to talk to her about the Magic Mike [Vegas] show.’’

Not an exclusive feminist, but consider Channing Tatum a self-proclaimed feminist ally. A fierce one.
