Is this the most Boston store in Boston?
This may be the most Boston store evah.
As New Kids On The Block perform the first of two home-town shows tonight, we travelled to the heart of New Kids country, on Dorchester Avenue, to a spot called New Store on the Block.
It isn’t a new store. It has been there for years, although none of the employees we spoke with knew exactly how long.
What makes it so Boston?
Not just that it is named after our most famous boy band. It may not have lunchboxes, t-shirts or posters in tribute to Donnie, Jonathan or Danny. And you won’t be swarmed with pre-teen girls lusting over Jordan or Joey.
But there are many, many other things that may make it the most Boston store in Boston, including the ones below:
There’s a Dunkin Donuts right inside the store.
There are Boston hats on the ceiling.
You can Keno.
They also sell e-cigarettes.
Their view isn’t too shabby either.
They also are right across from an ice cream shop. Boston loves ice cream.
So while you wait for your iced coffee, the least you can do is take a picture in front of the store. Do it for your inner-80’s kid.
