What notable people would be renamed if they were born last year
Let us introduce you to the modern equivalent of our mayor: Hudson Walsh.
In an alternate universe, Boston’s beloved acting duo might be named Joshua and Colton instead of Matt and Ben.
Time created a tool that lets you type in a name and birth year to find out what the modern equivalent would be, based on the annual rankings of popular baby names. For example, if your name was ranked No. 1 at the time of your birth, you’d be named Noah or Emma if you were born last year and your parents decided to give their newborn the top-ranked name again.
Here’s what 20 of Boston’s most notable would have been named if they were born in 2014. Plus a few others, just for fun.
Mayor Hudson Walsh does have a nice ring to it…
Martin “Marty’’ Walsh (1967)
Thomas “Tom’’ Brady (1977)
Mark Wahlberg (1971)
Charles “Charlie’’ Baker (1956)
Mindy Kaling born Vera Mindy Chokalingam (1979)
Elizabeth Warren (1949)
Henry Louis Gates, Jr. (1950)
Dustin Pedroia (1983)
Dennis Lehane (1965)
Matthew “Matt’’ Damon (1970) and Benjamin “Ben’’ Affleck (1972)
Constance “Connie’’ Britton (1967)
Amy Poehler (1971)
Edward “Ted’’ Kennedy (1932) and Joseph “Joe’’ Biden (1942)

Just two Elijahs sharing a laugh.
Benjamin Joseph Manaly “B.J.’’ Novak (1979)
Conan O’Brien (1963)
Barbara Walters (1929)
Robert Kraft (1941)
Uma Thurman (1970)
Jennifer “Jenny’’ Slate (1982)
Christopher “Chris’’ Evans (1981)

Technically, Christopher translates to Liam. But searching “Chris’’ led to Ricardo, which is way better.
