Kevin Spacey Loves Boston—the City and the Dog
Actor Kevin Spacey was on Ellen recently, talking about his connections to Boston—but when he mentions Boston, he’s talking about both the city where he’s filmed several projects, and the rescue dog he fell for during his meetings with survivors of the Boston Marathon bombing. He named her Boston out of his love for our city.
In the above clip from Ellen, he tells the host about finding Boston (the dog) in Boston (the city). The dog was originally named Cuddles, and Spacey met her in a “truck full of puppies’’ that was sent by a shelter in New York to help our city heal.
“So I went over and I picked this dog up,’’ Spacey told Ellen Degeneres, “and I did not get this dog to here, and she grabbed me around my throat and hung down my entire body and licked my face like there was honey on it for about 15 minutes.’’
As he told students at a Northeastern Homecoming event last November, “I fell in love and I adopted her the next day.’’
