Actor Chris Pratt is Hasty Pudding’s 2015 Man of the Year. The honor comes a week after the group named his Parks & Recreation co-star Amy Poehler Woman of the Year.

Established in 1963, the Hasting Pudding Man of the Year award is presented by the 170-year-old Harvard student theatrical society to “performers who have made lasting and impressive contributions to the world of entertainment.’’

After gaining prominence as affable goofball Andy Dwyer on Poehler’s NBC comedy, 2014 was a breakout year for Pratt, who starred in The Lego Movie and Guardians of the Galaxy. The two movies grossed more than $468 million and $772 million, respectively. Pratt also has the leading role in the 2015 film Jurassic World — the fourth installment of the Jurassic Park series — which will be hit theaters in June.

Past recipients of Man of the Year include Clint Eastwood, Robert de Niro, Harrison Ford, Justin Timberlake, and Neil Patrick Harris. The group will present the award to Pratt after a roast Friday, Feb. 6 at Farkas Hall in Harvard Square. Poehler, a Burlington native, will accept her award (after a roast and a parade) Saturday, Jan. 29.

“We vehemently deny that the members of the Hasty Pudding Theatricals are obsessed with Parks & Recreation,’’ said Jason Hellerstein, president of the Hasting Pudding Theatricals. “Joking aside, Chris Pratt’s recent achievements as an actor are outstanding and we could not be more thrilled to host him and celebrate his talent as only the Pudding can.’’

The season premiere of the seventh and final season of Pratt and Poehler’s Parks & Recreation aired Tuesday.

The Hasty Pudding Theatricals are part of the Hasting Pudding Institute of 1770 at Harvard University. A complete list of both the Man and Woman of the Year award recipients can be found here on the group’s website.
