George Clooney Calls Out Steve Wynn in Las Vegas
Get your dukes up, Steve Wynn.
George Clooney brought out the fighting words a couple of weeks ago while eating at Botero in Wynn’s Encore Hotel, when Wynn reportedly criticized the Affordable Care Act, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.
“He called the president an (expletive deleted) … that is a fact …’’ Clooney said in a statement issued by his publicist, USA Today cites. “I said the president was my longtime friend and then he said ‘your friend is an (expletive deleted).’ … At that point I told Steve that HE was an (expletive deleted) and I wasn’t going to sit at his table while he was being such a jackass.’’
There were a few more bleepity bleeps said before Clooney walked away.
Clooney was at the restaurant with several business partners to promote their tequila brand, Casamigos, during the Wine & Spirits Wholesalers of America convention. Said business partners were at the table, along with Wynn and his wife, and a couple of Creative Artists Agency execs — the group that represents Clooney.
Wynn, a known Republican donor, told the Review-Journal that the “Gravity’’ actor threw a “hissy fit,’’ and blamed it on the drink.
“When he’s drinking, he considers himself a close personal buddy of the president,’’ Wynn told the paper. “He got up and said, ‘I don’t have to listen to this (expletive) stuff. The only person who got excited at the table was George, and he ran off to another bar.’’
Well, as Swizz Beat says, “don’t be mad at him when it’s on to the next one.’’
