Mark Zuckerberg wants to make his own version of the robot from Iron Man in 2016
Not the actual Iron Man suit, the supercomputer that runs it.
Even billionaires like Mark Zuckerberg have New Year’s resolutions. But instead of losing five pounds or exercising more, the Facebook founder wants to invent an AI that will run his house like a disembodied Rosie from The Jetsons.

“My personal challenge for 2016 is to build a simple AI to run my home and help me with my work,’’ Zuckerberg wrote in a post on his Facebook page January 3. “You can think of it kind of like Jarvis in Iron Man.’’
“I’m going to start by exploring what technology is already out there,’’ Zuckerberg continues. “Then I’ll start teaching it to understand my voice to control everything in our home — music, lights, temperature and so on.’’
Zuckerberg also said he hoped the AI could learn to recognize his friends’ faces when they rig the doorbell, check on his daughter when he’s not with her, and help visualize data using virtual reality for work.
Lest you doubt Zuckerberg’s resolution as a flight of fancy, Mashable notes that Zuckerberg resolved to become fluent in Mandarin in 2010 and delivered a 20-minute speech at Tsinghua University in Beijing entirely in Mandarin five years later.
Inventing an AI with all the aforementioned qualities is probably harder than learning a new language, but you never know with Mark Zuckerberg.
