The Harvard Book Store now has a #ShePersisted display

“Nevertheless, she persisted."

The rebuke Sen. Elizabeth Warren received this week for her attempt to read a letter by Coretta Scott King sparked a backlash and a rallying cry on social media with the hashtag “#ShePersisted.”Now, the Harvard Book Store has its own “Nevertheless, she persisted” display dedicated to the two women, featuring books written by Warren and Scott King.

This isn’t the first time the 85-year-old independent bookstore has used current political events to create a display within its walls.

Earlier this week, the booksellers put together a display of reading material “Commemorating the Victims of The Bowling Green Massacre” following the repeated false claims of such an event by Kellyanne Conway, a top advisor to President Donald Trump.

“We’re intending to provide deeper resources to think, read, and explore both the current events around this idea of disinformation but also exploring the history of it,” store marketing and events manager Alex Meriwether told Boston.com at the time.
