This week’s opening segment for “Saturday Night Live’’ decided to mash up two things you’d never think would go together: Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation and “The Bachelor.’’

Cecily Strong played a distraught Rebecca Kufrin, the jilted winner of this season’s “Bachelor,’’ and Kate McKinnon played Mueller.

Mueller’s message: it was just too soon to commit.

“I need to explore the possibility that I might have a stronger case with some other stuff,’’ the Mueller character said.
