John Krasinski is bringing a little bit of Boston to New York.

The Newton-bred actor announced on Friday that he would be casting a live table read of “Good Will Hunting,” which will be performed on October 7 at the NYU Skirball Center for Performing Arts. The event is put on by Film Independent, in conjunction with the New York Times.

There is no word yet on what other celebrities will be participating in the table read — although Krasinski hinted in his Instagram post that his wife, Emily Blunt, may play a role — as the event page notes that Krasinski will announce his cast via his Twitter account in the days leading up to performance.

Don’t expect to catch this event after October 7, as there will be no video or audio recordings. You can buy tickets here.
