Thanks to Snapchat, you can celebrate Art Museum Day even if you’re unable to make it out to the MFA.

Three local museums—Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts, the Institute of Contemporary Art, and the Peabody Essex Museum—are all making their Snapchat debut on Wednesday as part of Art Museum Day. On their stories, you can see artwork bedecked with emojis, watch walkthrough videos of exhibits, and learn about some classic pieces.

Spearheaded by the Association of Art Museum Directors and the International Council of Museums, Art Museum Day, where some museums offer free or reduced admission or membership deals and the institutions encourage visitors to share their museum-going experience on social networks.

Each museum’s own Snapchat will showcase their art in a unique way. The MFA (Snapchat username mfaBoston) will explore their collections with an emoji art history tour of the museum’s highlights. There will also be a specific MFA geofilter that any visitors can add to their snaps throughout the day.

Peabody Essex Museum (Snapchat username peabodyessex) will use the app to feature a new installation in their American Art galleries and to showcase video of the newly-opened Auguste Rodin exhibition, in which members of the BoSoma Dance Company respond to the sculptor’s work with fluid, physical movements.

The ICA (Snapchat username icaboston) will give visitors a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the museum, from their current Geoffrey Farmer exhibition to their harborside events. If you check back on their snaps throughout the summer, you’ll see first glances of their new outdoor sculptures by Ugo Rondinone and clips of their museum concerts and DJ nights.

If you still want to visit a museum IRL, there are some deals: The MFA offers free admission on Wednesday after 4 p.m. and the Harvard Art Museums in Cambridge are free all day Wednesday. Peabody Essex Museum is also offering three extra months of membership to any new members that join on May 18 for Art Museum Day, and as always, the ICA is free on Thursday nights from 5 to 9 p.m.
