You can adopt Mr. John Hamm at Boston’s Animal Rescue League

He's the Don Draper of dogs.

You may not be able to adopt Jon Hamm, the actor best known for playing the suave Don Draper on AMC’s Mad Men, but you can take home John Hamm, a Pit Bull Terrier mix up for adoption at the Animal Rescue League of Boston.

Mr. John Hamm, as he’s formally referred to on the shelter’s site, is a 2-year-old neutered male dog who was found as a stray. He has been with the shelter since April 21.

The shelter assures that he loves to play and frequently carries toys with him on walks. Mr. John Hamm is energetic, according to his profile, and would be best suited in an active home that has lots of time for walks, play, and training.

He is also “eager to show off his basic commands for some tasty treats”; he knows “sit,” “down,” and “paw.”

Shelter staff encourage anyone interested in adopting to first visit and meet the dogs. (More up for adoption can be found here.) Animal Rescue League of Boston is located at 10 Chandler St. and is open Tuesday through Sunday from 1 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
