There’s nowhere in Boston quite like Newbury Street.
Lined with over 180 unique shops and restaurants, the mile-long street is one of the most popular attractions in the Back Bay neighborhood. There’s something for everybody on Newbury, whether that be a new wardrobe, a quick bite to eat, or some home decor.
Newbury Street was originally designed to be a residential neighborhood, but underwent renovations over time that allowed for shops and restaurants to start opening. The street is a mix of new and old, with its centuries-old brick buildings housing sleek storefronts.
Many of Boston’s small and local businesses have found their home on Newbury Street. Trident Booksellers & Cafe, for example, is a family business that provides a cozy environment for every book lover. Covet is a consignment shop featuring “affordable and chic products,” and Sonsie, a restaurant Boston.com once described as “perpetually youthful,” serves up various types of international cuisine.
Let us know what local business on Newbury is your favorite. Do you frequent the boutiques and clothing stores, or would you rather shop for trinkets and tchotchkes? Tell us by filling out the form or e-mailing us at [email protected], and your response may appear in a future Boston.com article.
