If there’s one thing that Boston isn’t lacking (besides Dunkin’s, sports fans, and strong accents), it’s bars. From those that are small and cozy to ones that are filled with boisterous patrons, the bar can be the perfect place to hang out with friends or family — or, if you’re flying solo, meet new people.

Where to drink

Singles bars provide opportunities to connect with new people and scout for romantic connections. A 2020 survey from the Pew Research Center found that about half of single adults in the U.S. were looking for dates or a relationship.

Just because Valentine’s Day is around the corner, don’t feel pressure to find a romantic partner. The same survey found that the other half of single adults are not looking for a relationship, and enjoying being single.
