It’s that time of year again: Super Bowl season is upon us. It’s red against red for Super Bowl LVIII on Feb. 11 as the Kansas City Chiefs take on the San Francisco 49ers, the second time the teams have met since 2020.
While we aren’t seeing the Patriots in this year’s Super Bowl, there’s still an air of excitement surrounding the commercials, the halftime show, Taylor Swift’s possible appearance in Las Vegas, and the game itself. And like any big event, there’s one thing that takes priority: the food.
Game-day food is essential to a sporting event as big as the Super Bowl. High on this list are some heavy hitters, like nachos and pigs in a blanket. But chicken wings come out on top as one of the most popular Super Bowl foods. The numbers don’t lie — the National Chicken Council projected that Americans would eat 1.45 billion wings during last year’s Chiefs-Eagles Super Bowl weekend.
Wings are a customizable football staple. They can be bone-in or boneless, sauced to the nines or finished with a dry rub, and there are also vegan options. Whether you’re watching the big game from the comfort of your couch or a crowded bar, the game-day food is sure to be a highlight of the night.
So we want to know: In preparation for the big game, where are the best spots to get chicken wings in Greater Boston? Fill out the survey below or e-mail us at [email protected], and your response may be featured in a future Boston.com article.
