We’re closing out another memorable year in just a couple of weeks, but before we ring in the new year, we want to take the time to look back on our best moments of 2021.

There’s no better way to capture a good memory than to take a great photo of it, and Boston.com readers have shown that they’ve got a great eye for memorable photos. Over the last year, we’ve shared reader-submitted photos of everything from their favorite foods to their favorite spots around the city.

Living somewhere as beautiful as New England, you can’t help but appreciate the nature around you. Whether they went out leaf-peeping or stopping to appreciate the blooming flowers on their own street corner, readers had their cameras ready.

Readers spent a lot of time cuddled up with the pets they adopted at the start of the pandemic, and they sent in the cutest photos of their furry friends to prove it.

Summer 2021 felt a little closer to normal for many of our readers who, after a long winter of lockdowns, were getting vaccinated and felt ready to enjoy time outdoors with loved ones.
