Last night was the biggest night of music in Hollywood, and the 66th Grammy Awards did not disappoint.
From deserved wins and surprising snubs to the many star-studded performances of the night, here’s how X, formerly known as Twitter, reacted to some of the biggest moments of the night.
Pop icon Taylor Swift took home two awards last night for “Midnights:” Best Pop Vocal Album (her 13th Grammy, which may or may not be her lucky number) and Album of the Year. She became the first person to win four Album of the Year awards, and, during her first acceptance speech of the night, announced her new album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” which will be released April 19. Swifties knew something was up when earlier in the day yesterday, the superstar’s website appeared to crash when opening it and her social media profile pictures were changed to black-and-white versions.

people today are going to tell me "omg did you see taylor swift announced a new album at the Grammys?!" and I have to smile and nod as if I wasn't diving into her website code at 3pm in the afternoon yesterday pic.twitter.com/rEquIKVutB

Many of the night’s nominees took to the stage to perform, but the most memorable of these came from singer-songwriters Tracy Chapman and Joni Mitchell. Chapman, who has appeared in public rarely over the last few years, performed her song “Fast Car” with country singer Luke Combs, whose cover of the song became popular last year. Last night marked Mitchell’s first time performing at the Grammys, where she performed her song “Both Sides Now.” Mitchell has also made rare public appearances after a 2015 brain aneurysm. At the end of her performance, Mitchell was presented the award for Best Folk Album.

Rapper and record producer Jay-Z accepted the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award last night and used his speech to tell the Recording Academy to “get it right” in terms of honoring artists of color and call out the Grammys for never awarding Beyoncé with Album of the Year. “Even by your own metric that does not work,” he said during his speech. “Think about that, most Grammys, never won album of the year, that doesn’t work.”

Many artists, from Phoebe Bridgers to SZA to Billie Eilish, took home multiple Grammys, but there were also a few snubs that left fans upset. Olivia Rodrigo racked up six nominations for her sophomore album “GUTS” and Lana Del Rey had five for her album “Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd,” but neither artist won a Grammy last night.
