Are you running the 2026 Boston Marathon? Share your story with us.
We want to know what inspired you to run Boston.
The 130th Boston Marathon is just around the corner, and athletes from around the world are preparing for the monumental race.
The race will take place on Monday, April 20, 2026, continuing the proud tradition of Patriots’ Day in Massachusetts.
This year, more than 24,000 qualified athletes were accepted into the marathon, out of more than 33,000 applicants, the Boston Athletic Association announced in September. In total, athletes from all 50 U.S. states (plus Washington, D.C. and U.S. territories) will join runners from over 120 countries for the iconic 26.2-mile journey from Hopkinton to Boylston Street.
Every participant – whether running as a qualifier or for a charity – will have a story of determination, resilience, and personal triumph.
Whether you’re running for a cause close to your heart, to honor someone special, or to achieve a personal milestone, you’ll be part of an inspiring and diverse group of athletes.
As the 130th Boston Marathon approaches, we want to know: Why are you running?
