Tell us: What do you love about these Stephen King novels?

Our championship round of the best Stephen King novel pits 'The Stand' and ''Salem's Lot' against each other.

As one of the most popular horror authors, Stephen King lives up to his name as an icon in the genre.

Earlier this month, Boston.com asked readers to help narrow King’s best novels, then launched a bracket to decide on the champion. In our championship round from Oct. 21 through 23, readers can help decide his best novel: “The Stand” or “’Salem’s Lot.”

King’s career began strong in 1974 with his debut novel “Carrie,” earning its place as a cult classic. Over the past 50 years, many of King’s other works have been adapted into hit television and films.
