Mulligan

“This is my best buddy Mulligan. He is a 2-year-old Golden Retriever. This was the day I brought him home. He has brought laughs and happiness to me every day since the first time I met him. I couldn’t be more lucky to have him in my life. Mulligan [is] the friendliest, and goofiest dog I’ve ever seen. He makes friends with everyone he meets, and has a knack for making people smile. We take very long walks because he needs to stop and make sure he says hi to everyone. I’ve met a few people who have even said they were afraid of dogs until they met him. Mulligan loves living in the city because he meets all kinds of people, and can walk just about everywhere. He has a favorite walking loop that includes a corner store, a Starbucks, and the fire station (all of which provide treats).” — A Boston.com reader, South Boston
Barkley

“This is Barkley — the Honorable Mayor Barkley A. Dog, that is. She was abandoned in TN and found roaming the streets. She loves to sit on peoples’ feet and per Instagram posts is apparently responsible for bringing them good luck! We have to agree that she is magic!” — Janell C., Theater District
Norma

“Norma unapologetically embraces her worth! This photo captures that brilliantly.” — Kelly, West End
Carson

“Carson, the cutest tuxedo cat and sweetest boy. He’s brought us so much joy.” — Mark B., Norwood
Merrow

“Merrow the Newfoundland. Never have to worry about food scraps on the floor in my house!” — Clare O., North Attleboro
Toto

“Toto is 8 lbs of love wrapped in fur.” — Nancy R., Buzzards Bay
Angel

“Why, yes, as a matter of fact my cat Angel does have her own iPad. She watches CatTV (birds, squirrels). She lets me know she is bored by turning her back on iPad.” — Kate R., Essex
Lucy and Maisy

“We have two bonded sisters — house panther cats — named Lucy [and] Maisy. They both think they’re dogs. Lucy retrieves her cat toys [and] drags them upstairs (proudly). Maisy thinks she’s a New England Patriots football player and drags around her favorite toy, a Patriots football, everywhere, everyday — this with her 4 teeth! To Maisy, it’s better than catnip or any cat toy in the universe. They are the best furry friends ever.” — A Boston.com reader
Enzo

“Enzo. He is 7 months old and goes through the house like Marmaduke. Knocking things over and taking whatever he wants. [He] really likes right-foot shoes. But he is lots of fun!!” — Donald M., Lynn
Charlie

“I love my 9-year -old toy poodle Charlie so much! He’s the perfect mix of sweet, cuddly and adventurous! This past year training and running the marathon for 2 foundations was no easy feat but I wanted to make Charlie proud and he was the best snuggle partner after my long runs! He also loves walking on the Charles River!” — Courtney D.
Judy and Winston

“Judy (fawn) and Winston (black) are 2 rescue pitties. Inseparable, adorable, but definitely mischievous, no toy is safe :)” — Ignacio, Quincy
Buddy

“Over the years, we have rescued many cats and each are special but Buddy is my soul cat. He is next to me while I work. He follows me when I get up and he seems to understand me when I talk. He is toothless and spent 2 years in a shelter so I am so happy to give him a life filled with some eggs in the morning (which he happily weebles for) and a place by a warm fire in the winter. He is so easy to get along with and has welcomed other rescue cats in the past 5 years we have had him. He’s the best!” — Jessica M., Millis
Little Red, Rocky, Bandit, Gus, and Jack

“This is my crew of Southern rescues! Bandit, Rocky, Gus, Little Red and Jack. They are a unique bunch of personalities.” — Malissa M., New Bedford
