Kathryn Guarino is running to fight homelessness in Boston

"I have been drawn to the finish line since my days at Boston University."

Kathryn Guarino's run will support Pine Street Inn's Boston’s Way Home Fund for homelessness.

In our “Why I’m Running” series, Boston Marathon runners share what’s inspiring them to make the 26.2-mile trek from Hopkinton to Boston. If you’re running the marathon, you can share your story here.

Name: Kathryn Guarino
Age: 39
From: Boston

After the past two years, I needed a goal. A big one. A goal that would get me out of the house, both challenge and quiet my mind, and strengthen my involvement with the community. I have been drawn to the finish line since my days at Boston University and have continued to be inspired by the resilient community of runners that embark on this journey rain or shine.

I couldn’t think of a better organization to support along the way — Pine Street Inn! All donations will support their Boston’s Way Home Fund which will create 200 new units of supportive housing for men and women experiencing chronic homelessness.

If you can, please donate to my fundraising project. Thank you for your support and I hope to see you at the finish line!
